So Long 2011, Hello 2012

From a gaming perspective, I'm not sorry to see the Year 2011 come to the end of the calendar. It wasn't a good year of gaming for me. I missed one tournament, played only Day 1 of a two-day tournament, and was generally unsuccessful in playing this game we all love called FOW.

What I am thankful for is the circumstances that caused the above is much much improved! We're just pushing toy soldiers around and in this rodeo called life, in it's an insignificant game.

Now then with the philosophy lesson out of the way, 2012 is shaping up to be a huge year. In my mind, 2012 kicked off with the release of Red Bear and Grey Wolf. There hasn't been a day when I haven't cracked open one of those books and think about army lists. Best...Army...Books...Ever!

As everyone knows, Version 3 is out in February 2012. Today (Dec 28), I went to the LGS and bought the MRB. I tossed my hardback rule book years ago. The papers fell out and when I obtained two copies of the Open Fire mini rulebook, I felt I didn't need the big book anymore. Oops. BF is giving away the small Version 3 rulebook if you can show your copy of the hardback book. The LGS owner, who knows me, asked why I was buying the MRB. I explained my dilemna and he then gave me a 50% discount on the MRB! Support your LGS!! It pays you back beyond just being a place to buy stuffs and play this game.

Santa Wifey outdid herself. Grey Wolf was in my stocking and for our anniversary, I received an XBox Kinect! The garage is really turning into my Man Cave. I think her plan is to have Game Nights at our place, instead of me driving long distances to LGS or the other watering hole. Or maybe she just wants to keep an eye on me. Hmmmm...

Things I'm looking forward to in 2012...

I'm excited to get the Emchas rolling in 2012. I plan on adding Otto Carius to a LW Eastern Front army because he looks like fun. I want to attend any and all local tourneys. Finally, EW Barbarossa is just around the corner and who doesn't want some BT-7 lovin'?

Thanks for reading and all the comments.

In conclusion, I'll close out 2011 with panzer toons.
